Our Story

We offer ethical, people-focused solutions to property owners who need to sell quickly - due to relocation, probate, arrears, divorce, retirement or other life changes.

Our story is as unique as the properties we invest in. Our belief is that your home plays a starring role in your life story. But sometimes people's homes become a problem that stops them moving on with life and we want people's homes to be the heroes not villains of their life stories.

A Lifetime of Property Experience

Nicola Lees, our founder, started out working as a nurse in the NHS, before to working in the travel industry, and later became a talent manager in the TV/film industry. She went from a childhood living in a flat above a shop on the A6, to sharing HMOs with nurses in post-industrial Manchester to renting a string of 34 apartments in London, Southampton, Essex, Manhattan, and Brooklyn, as her life and career took a series of turns

Her passion for creating spaces that are more than just places to live came from these lived experiences: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

From TV to Property Services: A Plot Twist Like No Other

After two decades in the TV and film industry, project managing budgets of £500,000, we bring a creative vision and our risk assessment, budgeting, and scheduling expertise to property. These transferable skills, and a network of experienced like-minded private investors, give Plot Twist an edge in turning unloved, problematic  properties into inspiring, functional homes and returning them to market to be lived in by people who will love them.

Our Vision

We primarily invest in the following properties for people at pivotal life stages:

A Foot on the Ladder:

  • Small freehold blocks of flats and make them mortgage compliant to provide comfortable homes for first-time buyers or renters.
  • One bed flats that can be upgraded to 2-bedrooms to provide more space for starter families.

Family Life

  • 3-4 bed family homes close to schools, refurbishing and upgrading EPCs where necessary to provide stable, long-term accommodation for families, whether renting or buying.
  • Houses a that are - or can be - adapted for wheelchair users and other disabled homeowners and rentals; quality housing, beautiful an discreet practical features (e.g. rise-fall kitchen units and wet-rooms) that wouldn't be out of place in the pages of an interior design magazine.
